Well, this sucked.
Shasa'Kaelur leaned against the wall of a building, clutching the huge gash in her side. Stupid vorcha. Stupid Blood Packs. Stupid Krogan. Stupid everything. She should have /seen/ that varren coming from a mile off. That was part of the reason she'd tried to keep her distance.
In the closed-in warehouse, however, distance was an advantage that didn't easily present itself. A krogan had spotted her and had called the alarm before she'd blown his head off with her sniper rifle. The vorcha had swarmed her, forcing her to backpedal and retreat to the doorway. She'd completed her objective: kill the local Blood Pack commander. But now she had to get the hell out of the port and disappear.
She'd turned tail and run, her sniper rifle collapsing into its smaller, more portable form and slinging to her back. The tell-tale snarls of varren let her know she was in a race to the outer door. Varren could outrun her, but they couldn't undo locks. Heart thumping, she'd slid near the door and engaged the lock as fast as she could, hearing several thick skulls make contact with the door. Shasa only just burned out the console to make sure she wouldn't be followed before teeth embedded themselves in her side, breaking right through her shield. Crying out in pain, it was all she could do to pull out her shotgun and blow the varren's head off as it twisted and turned in an attempt to overpower her.
The wound was horrible, her blood spilling over her torn suit as it shut down and compartmentalized to prevent surface infection from spreading.
And now here she was, on her knees beside a factory full of hostile vorcha and varren that were going to tear her to pieces the moment they were able to knock down the door or figure out they could take the back exit. Panting hard, shock creeping through her, she shakily got the her feet, leaning heavily on the wall, and hobbled her way towards a more busy part of town. If she could disappear in a crowd or a transit system, find some medigel, she could maybe make it off the planet before the Blood Pack found her.
First things first, though. She was going to bleed out, and soon, if she didn't get some sort of medical help. Medigel and disinfectant. And a lot of bandages. Anything would be wonderful.
